The JRMC, a Federally Qualified Health Center based in Perth Amboy, NJ has announced its purchase of 1540 Roosevelt Avenue in Carteret that will soon become a new two-story family medical and dental center.
JRMC’s CEO John T. O’Leary stated, “this new FQHC will boast expanded healthcare services, and an oral health department that will provide services to the residents of Carteret and surrounding areas within Middlesex County and parts of Union County. We have a long-standing patient base that currently travels from Carteret to our Perth Amboy center. With the addition of this new healthcare site, patients will now have the option to access our medical and dental services at both centers.” He added, “We selected this location partially based on its location along the NJ Transit bus route; providing convenient access to both locations. Patients will soon be able to see staff doctors for various forms of treatment within one system of care. A seamless approach to medical and dental services is of utmost importance for our patients, their families, and caregivers.” The new Carteret FQHC will also be equipped for COVID-19 testing and vaccinations.
The construction of the new medical and dental center will begin this spring and will begin providing services to patients by fall.
“The Borough places a high priority on the health and well-being of our residents,” said Carteret Mayor Dan Reiman. “We are looking forward to the new medical and dental facility providing access to valuable healthcare services for our community”.
