On March 5th, JRMC CEO, John T. O’Leary and Dr. Cynthia Vuittonet addressed questions about Coronavirus awareness at a media event held in Perth Amboy at the JRMC on Hobart Street.
Mr. O’Leary stressed the need to create calm within the community, and that there is no cause for panic. He stated that the best medical care is available in the United States, and the JRMC is working together with Perth Amboy Mayor Diaz to provide information to the community about how to prevent illness, what to do if you have been exposed to the virus, and what to do if you become ill.
Dr. Vuittonet spoke about preventative measures to take, such as thorough hand-washing. She also stated that although the general population is at a pretty low risk, it is best to be diligent and follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC. Dr. Vuittonet advises that if you feel ill with symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath, you should contact your healthcare professional immediately.
