JRMC Newark - School Based
Health Centers
IMPORTANT UPDATE
Due to the impact of COVID 19, all Newark based services are operating out of Shabazz HS for Pediatric Care, 13th Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Elementary School for Adult Care. Dental care will resume at Central High School on August 31, 2020. Other school locations remain closed at this time.

In 2005, JRMC partnered with Newark Public Schools to increase inner-city access to much needed medical services and health resources. The first Newark School-Based Health Centers were opened on January 2, 2006, at George Washington Carver, Quitman, Barringer, and Malcolm X Shabazz Schools.
Our Newark School-Based Health Centers are there for the benefit of the entire community. You do not have to be a student or a family member of a student to use the services of the health center.
